Walking Tall
Coming to DVD on September 28, 2004
|
MGM's updated version of the 1973 action movie "Walking Tall"
which starred Joe Don Baker as real-life Sheriff Buford Pusser
of Tennessee. In this remake, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is Chris
Vaughn, who returns home after serving in the U.S. Special Forces
and finds his hometown infested with drugs and crime. Neal
McDonough ("Boomtown") portrays Hamilton, the main nemesis to Johnson's
character and the man at the center of the corruption. Ashley
Scott ("Birds of Prey") and Kristen Wilson ("Doctor Doolittle") also
star in the film.

6/02/04 - The "Walking Tall" DVD will be released on August 3rd. You can pre-order it from Amazon.
4/12/04 - This past weekend, "Walking Tall" came in fifth at the box office, giving it a two-week total of 28.9 million. Also, a transcript of Neal's appearance on "The Sharon Osbourne Show" and a new still have been added.
4/08/04 - In its opening weekend, "Walking Tall" came in second at the box office with 15.5 million, behind "Hellboy" (23.1 million). Also, more reviews, a special page of comments about Neal's performance as Jay Hamilton, and a transcript of his interview on CMT's "Top 20 Countdown" have been added to the Media page.

3/25/04 - A sneak preview of "Walking Tall" will be shown in select theaters across the country on Saturday, March 27th. (Check your local theaters for their schedules.) 3/17/04 - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will host a free preview of the movie, "Walking Tall", for the service men and women at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, TOMORROW, Thursday, March 18th. He will meet with troops at CENTCOM Headquarters and at the MacDill Air Force Base Theater, introducing the movie in the evening.
3/16/04 - The world premiere of "Walking Tall" will be held on March 29th at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This auction site has tickets for the premiere and an "after party". Also, a list of scheduled appearances for the cast has been added to the Media page.
3/04/04 - The release date for "Walking Tall" has been changed to April 2nd. The film will be rated PG-13. Also, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is scheduled to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 11th.

There will be a special benefit screening of "Walking Tall" on Tuesday,
